SOME OBSERVATIONS ON THE GEOLOGY OF THODDOO ISLAND

Just by looking at Thoddoo island from a plane or drone, any visitor must notice that this island is different from other Maldivian islands. It is not part of a chain of islands of varying sizes surrounding an inner lagoon.
It stands alone and its geological structure is rather different. This is probably why – unlike other Maldivian atolls – Thoddoo has plenty of drinking water for farming and palms.
